When it comes to poetic talent and literary heritage many of the local poets earned name and fame, which spread to all the corners of the stage. Bellamkonda Ramaraya, the Sanskrit Poet and the commentator of the book Sankaracharya, the Kopparapu Kavulu , who are venerated on par with the famous Tirupathi Venkata Kavulu, Pandit Kavitha Subramanya Sastri, Nayani Subba Rao, Kolavennu Rama Koteswara Rao, and a host of other poets contributed a lot and made the name of the town unforgettable.
Nagarjuna Sagar multipurpose Dam 50 Kms away from Narasaraopet was erected in 1960’s changed the economic conditions of the people of Palanadu. The Kondaveedu Fort (18Kms) is a historical evidence of the Reddy Dynasty that ruled this area in 15th Century. Narasaraopet is one more thing to boost of- it is berth place of Sri Sri Sri Bharathi Theerdha Swamy, who had been crowned “Guru” to the world famous Sringeri Saradha Peetham.The Sringeri Matt was constructed in the heart of the town (Narasaraopet) on 21st May 1989. |
